Mikaela Stiner – Creative & Communications Specialist

Mikaela Stiner has a range of experiences in communications and education. At 19, she moved to Amman, Jordan, to teach English, and returned to the US to complete a degree in journalism. During her undergraduate experience in Virginia, she created an online news organization along with several other student journalists. After graduating, she moved to Tunis, Tunisia, to work at an international school, teaching English and literature to secondary students and capturing photo and video content as a multimedia specialist. She currently works as a Communications Specialist in Leander ISD, just north of Austin, TX, where she tells the story of the district primarily through photography, as well writing news articles, creating videos, and managing the district’s social media profiles.

Mikaela is currently working on a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Randolph College. Outside of work and school, she loves trail running, movie watching, reading, cooking vegan dishes, and spending as much time as possible outdoors.
